David was my university professor at Windsor Law. He was a fantastic person who knew how to connect with his students by teaching in a fun and practical manner. he always made time to answer my questions and share a joke or two. One of my favourite memories was of him always arriving just before class started and parking in the fire exist on the side of the building. I can only imagine how many tickets he go...lol! You will be greatly missed Mr. McNevin! Thanks for being a great mentor.
My deepest condolences to the McNevin family.

My condolences to the McNevin family. I had a case with David in Toronto in March, 2018 and after it concluded we made a point of staying in touch and went out to one of David’s favourite bars in Windsor when I was there in June 2018. We shared a love of the blues and talked about that more than the law. I only knew David for a brief time but found him to be an engaging fellow. If we lived in the same city there is no question that we would have hung out together. I will miss him.

Sincere condolences on behalf myself and other colleagues at our labour and employment firm in Toronto. We knew David both personally and professionally, enjoying his passion and dedication as we worked together on cases, his never ending energy when he attended Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers meetings and social events around the country, enjoying americanos, drinks, music, and the camaraderie of great friends and fellow employment lawyers. His joy for life and law, as well as his dedication to family, was palpable. We’ve lost a great friend and colleague.

I met David back in the fall of 2005 when I took civil procedure at Windsor Law. David was one of the few practitioners who took time to teach the next generation.
He was always highly motivated and encouraged students to tackle the law from multiple view points. He was charismatic in his teaching approach and was down to earth. I never felt embarrassed or intimidated to ask questions.
I am saddened by his passing and my condolences to his family and loved ones. The legal community has lost a great lawyer, teacher, and role model.

This morning, as a coworker shared the news with me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness to hear about the news. I first met David as he worked with my company as our employment lawyer. I saw him first hand deliver a case that was inspiring... sitting next to him in court was like watching a movie first hand. He was so articulate, so well spoken, it was a true gift to watch him in action. As time went on, our working relationship turned into a friendship and I really cherished all the time we spent together.
He was a truly caring person and just an overall great guy.
This world really lost someone special.
