Obituary of Stanley McDowall
On February 7th, 2020 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 69 years to Audrey (nee Goodfellow). Cherished father of Douglas, Gordon (Monica), James, Bruce (Deirdre), David (Deanna), Donald (Lisa), Ian (Tammy), Scott (Michelle), Nancy McDowall-Dunford (Todd). Loving grandfather to 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dearest son of the late James and Margaret McDowall. Predeceased by his siblings, Archie and Bea, Isobel, James, John and Dora, George and Doris (Marguerite), and Margaret.
Stan, a graduate of the University of Toronto (1950), became a professional engineer at Chrysler Canada retiring in 1984 and was Chrysler’s Loaned Representative for the United Way Campaign for 10 years. He was active with the Memorial Society of Windsor and District, the Adult Literacy Program of the Windsor Public Library, a board member of ALSO (Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario), an emergency driver for Wings Avian Rehabilitation Association, a past Trustee of the Windsor Board of Education and a dedicated blood donor. Special thank you to the staff at Huron Lodge for all their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Hospital for Sick Children Toronto or ALSO would be appreciated by family. Cremation has been held.
A celebration of Stan’s life will take place on Saturday March 7, 2020 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Signature Tributes Event Centre (3310 Dougall Ave. - Windsor).
