Obituary of John Butler

BUTLER, John Marston Passed away peacefully at 94 ½ years of age, on August 19, 2020 surrounded by the love of his family. Beloved husband of Florence (nee Platt). Cherished father of Shelley Scodellaro (Lucio), Debra Mayhead (Todd), Andrew (Cecille). Loving step-father of Deborah Magliaro (Tony). Sadly missed by grandchildren Sonya, Gina, Timothy, Alex and Adam and great granddaughter Sophia. Dear brother-in-law of Tom Platt (the late Pat). Predeceased by his parents Jonathan (Jack) and Elsie Butler and his sister Joyce Grabb (and the late Buzz). He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. John was a retiree of Toledo Scale Company, a WWII Veteran and a member of the Navy League of Canada for over 65 years. He was a former commanding officer of R.C.S.C.C. Agememnon. John enjoyed travelling especially his cruises. He loved gardening and spending time with his family. We will miss his warmth, quick wit and sense of fun. If you so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. At John’s request, cremation has taken place.
