Obituary of Kenneth Arthur Hines

Softly and quietly, our beloved Ken slipped away at the age of 67 years (August 19, 1954 - January 23, 2022). Devoted husband and best friend to Cheryl (Wilson). Cherished father of Timothy and Amanda (Mark Pastorius). Dear grandfather of Destany. Proud pet parent of Molly and Ellie. Pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Mildred. Loving brother of Dave (Nancy), late twin Keith, Phil (Teresa), Lee Ann (Darryl), Bruce, Brian (Nancy), and Diana (Ed). He will be greatly missed by many siblings-in-law and nieces and nephews. Ken retired after a long career at Moncur Electric. He was his happiest when he was able to solve problems and fix things. He was always the ‘go to’ guy. He shared his knowledge and experiences. His sense of humour was unique. Our Ken was a private person and enjoyed a quiet lifestyle. He had many stories to tell and enjoyed learning. His personal downtime was spent listening to music, sitting by a crackling fire, or reading. His interest in science and history was always expanding. Summer was his favourite time of year. On a sunny day, you would find him on the boat. We all enjoyed many happy hours on the river. Great memories of road trips from coast to coast are treasured. Throughout the years, camping and winter getaways always brought laughter, joy, and good times. Cremation has taken place. A tribute to Ken’s life will be held at a later date. Ken will always be remembered for the man he was. In his memory, donations may be made to the Humane Society or Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association. When you’re weary, feeling small, When tears are in your eyes, I’ll dry them all. I will comfort you. I’m sailing right behind. Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down.
