Robert "Bob" Jay Podvin, 88, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on May 10, 2023, in his hometown of Windsor, ON, He was born on November 5, 1934, in the same city. He previously resided in Fort Myers, FL. and retired to Brevard, NC. Bob is survived by his children, Candice Podvin, Robert Podvin Jr. (Edna), and Cristina Paquette (Jeff), his grandchildren, Angie (Dominic), Amanda (Matthew), Jay (Sarah), Alexi (Khamal), Adam (Emily), and Emily, along with his five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Rose Ann (nee Nemee) Podvin (2010) and his parents Carmine (nee Vickers) and Harold Podvin. Bob had varied and successful careers. Not only a haberdasher alongside his parents in Detroit, MI for many years, he was co-founder, part owner and general manager for the Windsor Spitfires-Jr. A Tier II team (1971-1973), general manager for the Detroit Jr. Red Wings Tier II team (1970). He also was promotional sales manager for CBC Radio and Television and was Exec. Director for the CAI-South Gulf Coast Chapter. Bob was a man of many talents and enjoyed various hobbies. During his life he was an avid painter, golfer, hockey referee, drummer and window dresser. Bob will be dearly remembered by his children, Rose Ann’s remaining family members, best friend, Richard Deboest, cousin Diane Smitten and friends across the USA and Canada. Bob’s beloved dog Andy has been adopted by Robert Jr. and will be living the best dog’s life as promised. According to Bob's wishes, cremation and interment has taken place. He is resting with Rose Ann at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan.
